Show : t . . . . . : -A The annual National April Art Show will reach a fitting climax cli-max with the closing art program set Monday, April 30, at 2:30 p.m., in the high school gymnasium, when the purchase painting or paintings will be unveiled. The customary art awards, always a source of interest will again be made during the unveiling exercises. Principal Paul K. Walker, chairman of the art board will be in charge of the program. pro-gram. The Wayne Johnson Family award comprising a $100 scholarship schol-arship to be given an outstanding art student, who will use it in furthering his art education, will be made during the afternoon. Also the Aureole club cash award to an outstanding art student, will be given. Another award, which stimulates much interest among art students is that given by Mr. and Mrs. A. Merlin Steed, in the form of a painting to the boy or girl who succeeds in painting the best picture during the year. Mr. and Mrs. Steed some time ago personally per-sonally chose the student artist to whom this award will go. The purchase painting or paintings paint-ings will be unveiled by the candidate can-didate from the class or classes securing the largest art fund. Music for the closing program will be furnished by the high school music department. Exhibit to Close The unveiling exercises will mark the close of the 1951 Exhibit. Ex-hibit.
