Wilson, a surveyor for the Union Pacific railroad, was shot to death after a fight which followed his objections to the attentions at-tentions that his companion, Mrs. June Reed, a widow, was receiving from Steedman. He collapsed col-lapsed in jail when he was informed in-formed that Wilson had died. Witnesses to the shooting and the preceding quarrel declared Steedman had been drinking fceav-ily fceav-ily at the danee.
