NBVS One of the lovely and altogether al-together successful parties of the season was the annual semi-formal semi-formal dancing social given by the Second .Ward M Men and Gleaner girls at the amusement hall, Friday night. The affair was invitational and about 150 couples attended, A unique and attractive decorative scheme titled, "Blue Hawaii," was carried car-ried out in practically every phase of the entertainment. The lobby and dance hail were lighted with blue lights, while palms, ferns, lovely floor lamps and flowers lent a Hawaiian atmosphere. atmos-phere. In one corner of the hall, refreshments were served, the iong serving table being deeoiy ated with sweet peas and tali blue tapers. Adding much to the attractive scheme were the lovely love-ly formal and semi-formal gowns wrorn by the girls. Everyone present had a delightful time. The officers and teachers of the M. I. A., stake presidency and M Men and Gleaner stake advisors ad-visors attended as special guests. In charge of the decoration were Miss Cleon Fox, Miss Harriet Miner, " Mrs. Jphn 1 R. Anderson and Lowell Crandall. Members of the Mothers' Study club will . be entertained Friday afternoon at the home of Mrs. Lela Suansion. Dr. Gfctrrit ,de Jong of the B. Y. U., will furnish fur-nish the program. She defined the 100 per cent home and the recent growth in the field of home economics, viz: (1) application of the newer physical sciences as chemistry and physics to the business of managing the home; (2) the science sci-ence of health in the home in relation to bacteriology; (3) child development, training and care, and (4) parental responsibility responsi-bility as related to home living. The Misses Virginia and Elaine Bird sang "The Swallow," and "Lilac Time." Roll call response vas with a favorite receipe. A delectable luncheon concluded the program. Nineteen members and two guests were in attendance. Miss Veon Collings of Springville Spring-ville and George S. Dixon of Salt Lake City were married at Evanston. Wyo., last week, according ac-cording -to word received here. The annual Ag club ball to be helcT this evening at Memorial hall, promises to be an outstanding outstand-ing event- of the season. A number num-ber of out-of-town students are expected to attend in addition to a majority from the local school. Special decorations, dance programs and the giving of a turkey are planned by the club officers in charge. Miss Mary Louise Wingate gave a party at her home last Saturday evening for a number of girl friends. Progressive games furnished delightful entertainment entertain-ment and a dainty lunch was also enjoyed by all.. During the games, . prizes were won by Miss Evelyn Davis and Miss Shirley Mendenhall. Others present were Lois Johnson, Ha Clyde, LaVern Sanford, Margaret Benson, Gertrude Gert-rude Ann Welch, Beth Ann Latimer, Lati-mer, Ellen Rothwell, Tess Cherrington, Cher-rington, Ruth Witney, Gwene-viere Gwene-viere Johnson, Verlaine Beardall, Norma ' Long. Members of the S. T. club were guests of Mrs. Harry Pennington Pen-nington at her home last Friday evening At 8 o'clock, a tasty lunch was served at small tables and later bridge was enjoyed. High score prize for the evening's eve-ning's games was won by Mrs. Lois Clegg. Eleven club members mem-bers and Mrs. Philda Finley attended at-tended as a special guest. Mr. and Mrs. Alma Fullmer of this city announce the marriage mar-riage of their daughter Wilda, to Don Crosby, son of Mr. and Mrs. James L. Crosby of Fair-view, Fair-view, which "took place Tuesday evening at 8 o'clock at the home of the bride's parents. Bishop A. G. Peterson Of the First ward, performed the ceremony in the presence of immediate family rviembers and close friends. The bride's wedding attire was a lovely semi-formal black and white gown, with corresponding accessories. Immediately after the wedding ceremony, a reception was tendered ten-dered the young couple by the parents of the bride at their home. Supper was served to about 30 relatives and friends. A short program was also enjoyed. The bride and groom plan to make their home at Fairview. Complimentary to Miss Wilda Fullmer, a bride of the week, her mother entertained at a party in the form of a miscellaneous miscel-laneous shower at her home last Friday evening. About 35 relatives rela-tives and friends were in attendance.' at-tendance.' Progressive games for which prizes were given the winners, music and social chat were enjoyed, together with a 1 , delicious lunch. The guest of honor received many lovely bridal gifts from those present. Another party is planned for the bride at Fairview on Friday evening. Mrs. Hugh Baxter very delightfully de-lightfully entertained members of of the Home Culture club at her home Friday afternoon. The program featured a paper on "Three Women of Power," given in a pleasing and fcnjoyable manner by Mrs. Vera Perham. Miss Lula Fox gave a vocal solo, accompanied by her sister. Miss Annie Fox and Elden Mackley entertained with vocal solos; also accompanied by his sister, Miss Evelyn Mackley. A dainty and tasty luncheon, was served to 20 I club members and Mrs. Hilda Grant, as a special guest, A number of friends were pleasantly entertained Saturday afternoon at the home of Miss Lois Hales. A chili supper, social chat and progressive Po-ke-no featured the occasion with the following present: Miss Melpha Binks, Miss Cleo Haies, Vs Virginia Simkins, Miss Fern Ost-1 ler, Mrs. LaVell Ostler of Springville; Spring-ville; Miss Virginia Meiling, Miss Afton Bigler, Miss Vera Neves, Miss Helen Ratcliff, Miss June Kesler, Miss Isabel Hales all of Provo. High score prize during-the during-the entertainment was won by Miss Kesler and the consolation by Miss Meiling. Members of the Old Friends' club will be entertained Friday evening at the home of Mrs. Gertrude Clements. All are asked to be present at 8 o'clock. Mrs. D. R.
