Show BASKETBALL GETS UNDERWAY ; AT HIGH SCHOOL V ' With Springville high school in-terclass in-terclass basketball series over, Coaches Arthur Hughes is turning turn-ing his attention to the varsity. Approximately 30 aspirants to the Red Devil basketball team turned i out for the first practice, Monday inight. Though five regular team mem-lrs mem-lrs were graduated last spring, Coach Hughes hopes to build a string aggregation around six remaining re-maining lettermen. They are Frank Fullmer, captain; Matt Olsen, co-captain; Jay Nielson. center; Earl Childs, guard; Don Blanchard, forward; Leland Clements, Cle-ments, guard. Others who will -j sll0W promise during the daily practices, are, Burns and Burnis Watts, twins; P.eed Bennett, Reece Mower, Jim Alle ma n , Robert Cranmer, Frank Witney, Ronald, 4 Averett, Mack Holley and Hoyt Baxter. A pre-season schedule, with few other games to be added later, has been arranged by Coach Hughes, as follows: December 6, Lelii at Springvile, second and first teams, at 7 and 8 p. m., respectively; re-spectively; December 10. Moroni at Springville; December 17, 1 Price at Springvilie; December 22, ' Springville at Helper, the game to be a feature of the new gym- nosium dedication. |
