Show SERVICES HELD FOR COAL MINE CAVE-IN VICTIM Funeral services for Anthony Joseph Chaves, 44, who was fatally fa-tally injured in a coal mine accident acci-dent last Wednesday at Clear Creek, were held Saturday afternoon, after-noon, in the Fourth ward chapel. Burial was in the Evergreen cemetery under the direction of A. Y. Wheeler mortuary. Mr. Chaves died instantly when a coal slide in the mine he was working covered his body, crushing crush-ing his chest and causing several fractures to his arms and shoulders, shoul-ders, attending physicians stated. He was born in Los Angeles, Calif. February 13, 1893. He had worked in coal mines several sev-eral years coming from Bingham to the Clear Creek district. He married Amelia Elizabeth Chaves, June 28, 1917. The family moved to Springville in 1933. Surviving besides his widow, are a son and three daughters, Mrs.. Veanese Jeffs, Don, Deloa, and LaPreal Chaves, Springville. |
