Show It's Beautiful But It's Lonely Those who visited the Eldred Sunset Manor at the formal opening Sunday, were undoubtedly impressed with the spacious quarters provided in this county home for the aged, through the generosity of two Utah County people, Mr. and Mrs. L. J. Eldred with the supplement of federal funds. In this, the newest home of its kind in this area, provision has been made to care for practically every need of the aged, including a beautifully equipped dental room. Doctors and nurses are on call at all times. A most modern kitchen where balanced diets for every patient is planned, together with private and semi-private rooms with nurse-call intercommunication systems and cheerful decorative themes, make for the general welfare of every occupant. There are also spacious consultation and examination examina-tion rooms and large glass-enclosed sitting rooms with sun porches for summer relaxation. relax-ation. There is a beauty room and barber shop. In fact, nothing seems missing in the building plans designed for the good of the patients. Those in charge of the project as well as those who made the home possible are to be congratulated. One may wonder however, how-ever, why practically every major city in Utah county is represented on the board of directors except Springville. The patients seem pleased with the pleasant surroundings but many are looking look-ing for the thing which would make them happiest of all a visit from their neighbors, friends and relatives. One man probably expressed the feeling of many when he commented, "It's beautiful, but it's so lonely here." Everyone who has not seen the new Sunset Manor is urged to visit it during open house from 2 to 5 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. through .Friday, and on Saturday and Sunday from 2 to 8 p.m. Make it a must also to call on the patients at regular intervals. in-tervals. It is time well spent. |
