Show Beauty Operators Set for Bio Event will go to the national meet in July. National Contest Another event in connection with observance of the annual week, is the contest in which women of Springville are asked ask-ed to pick up a blank at any beauty salon and write in 25 words or less, "Why I Like Beauty Service." The National winner will have a life-time free beauty service. Commenting on service contributed con-tributed by local and county beauticians, Mrs. Ida Mae Holt, Elaborate plans are going forward by the beauticians of Springville and Utah county for the annual observance of Beauty Salon Week, February 8 to 14, with the annual Hair Fashion show scheduled to be held in Springville at the Third-Ninth ward February 11, as one of the major events. To usher in activities, Utah county beauticians will conduct a contest Monday evening, Feb. 2 at 7 p.m., in connection with a banquet at the Grandview cafe. At this time, most of the beauticians will enter one or more contestants. They will be judged by licensed beauticians and the winner will be entered in state competition. Considerable interest is exhibited ex-hibited among the women of Springville, as well as the local beauticians in the outcome of the contest. The state winner Springville, president of the Utah county organization said this week that every Tuesday Utah county beauticians take turns going to the State hospital hospi-tal to teach classes on charm and personal grooming, taking their kits and working on the patients. Doctors feel that it is good rehabilitation therapy, she stated. Also the Springville beauticians beauti-cians have rendered an exceptional excep-tional service in giving free of charge, permanents, hair cuts and styling to all the Indian In-dian girls who are making their home in Springville this school year. The beauty operators also contribute many beauty aids and preparations to the Youth Home regularly and increased activity will be undertaken by the operators during the annual an-nual week. |
