Here is a short and simple story of how one Englishman served his country: John Lang, 53 years old, Loyal North Lancashire regiment; father of twenty-five twenty-five children; called up as a reservist at the outbreak of the war; served on five battle fronts France, Palestine, Pales-tine, Saloniki, Bulgaria and Italy; witnessed wit-nessed the fall of Jerusalem; served in Constantinople following the armistice; armis-tice; unwounded throughout tho war; two sous, William and Thomas, both of the Loyal North Lancashire regiment, were killed early in the war; another son, Peter, in the Scots Guards, was wounded; another son, .lames, a sur- -.-eant in tho Iaw.-al North Lancashire ,,' r . |
