Show LETTERS WILL URGE PRESENCE AT MEETING The committee which is arranging for the meeting at the tabernacle Tuesday night at which J. Reuben Clark, Jr., of the law firm of Clark & Richards will discuss dis-cuss the league of nations has prepared a letter which it will send throughout the state urging attendance at the meeting, it was announced last night by Preston D. Richards, a member of the committee. Mr. Clark is known to be against the ratification of the league covenant without with-out reservations, and it is supposed that he will explain at the meeting why cer- i tain reservations are thought necessary. I He was solicitor to the state department during the war and has been in touch i wich international affairs. As legal ad- i viser to the Cuban government he became be-came acquainted with the attitude of large nations toward small ones, and will probably talk about the practical working out of the peace treaty as it affects the minor powers of the world. At present Mr. Clark is at his home in Grantsville on a vacation, but, according ac-cording to Mr. Richards, lie has given assurance that he will be present at the meeting. |
