Show Carlot Buyers Called "Evil." LINCOLN, Neb., Aug. 27. "Carlot buyers" buy-ers" were described as a "necessary evil" at today's hearing of the state's investigation into marketing conditions. This description of them was given by Charles Dickinson, a local carlot buyer. He explained his "business as that of buying buy-ing perishables in carload lots and estimated esti-mated 'that jobbers and wholesalers bought 75 per cent of the stock from carlot men. Jobbers, he declared, could not handle this field to the elimination of carlot men because they could not keep buyers continually in the Meld, and often might not purchase more than one car of a certain commodity a week. |
