ALTA SUPERIOR MINE SHOWINGS EXCELLENT Development work on the property of the Alta Superior Mining- & Milling- company, com-pany, situated at the head of the White Pine creek in the Alta district, is meeting meet-ing with encouraging showings, according accord-ing to A. l- Ahlnnder, preyident of 'the company. At present the adit face of tlio tunnel which tlio company is driving to cut a north-south contact, is fi4T feet from the portal. The desired objective will bo reached within another 5i fuet, it is estimated. Recently a contract of 100 foot of tunnel work was finished. Within :i short tiino tho company expects to lot a contract to drive another 100 feet. Favorable surface indications in the nature of f is.-surlng: and of ore-bearing rock exist, according to Mr. Ahlander. A vein of talc, which varies in width from six Inches to three feet, has been followed fol-lowed tlte whole length of the tunnel. In several places stringers of ore, which carried car-ried good values in silver, gold, copper and lead, have been cut. It is the plan of tho management, as loan as the ob-leetivo ob-leetivo is reached, to prospect these stringers, which promise well for the fiinLng of other ore bodies. Recently N. A. Nelson, secretary of the companv," returned from the mine with samples" of quart' from a stringer recently recent-ly cut, which carrv values in silver, lead and gold. This company has five claims which it plans to dcvelVp as fully as possible, pos-sible, it is said.
