Show EXPLANATION MADE; FINE ONLY IMPOSED Special to The Tribune. OGDEK. Nov. 21. Fred Harvey, charged with receiving stolen goods in connection with the recent box car robberies rob-beries in Ogden was sentenced by Judge D. R. Roberts in the city court today to pav a ?60 fine. The fine was imposed at the conclusion of the hearing in the case today. Har-vev Har-vev testified that at the time he did not know the goods were stolen. He wax corrol)orated in this statement by Career ChellRord and Robert Griffiths, who are serving sentences in the county jail for the larceny of the goods. .7. R. Watsn, R. Kanzler. Charles Murphy, George I. Dennett. Walter N. Farr and David Davis of this city testified as to the good character char-acter of Harvey as one of the city's business busi-ness men. At the conclusion of the testimony the court passed sentence, making It a direct f:nc without any Jail sentence. |
