Show 138,997 BOTTLES OF NEAR-BEER ARE POURED INTO SEWER ZION CITT. 111., Nov. 21. From a platform plat-form six feet high, 135.997 bottles of 2 per cent beer today were emptied Into a specially built trough that ran to an open sewer. Mayor W. H. Clendenin poured the first bottle and Chief of Police Theodore Theo-dore Becker and his aides finished the operation. The empty bottles were sold to a junk dealer for J2US.
