One of the big" properties, which is said to have been discovered by a sheepherder, is the Bair, which, Mr. Dye said, recently brought in a pOO-barrel well and was one of the main reasons for the boom in the district. He added that there is ft larg-e number of companies in the district, including in-cluding the Ogden Petroleum and Cub Oil & Gas company. The operations of the latter company, he said, are being closely watched by the other companies. He also said the company lias a well down about 4ro feet and expects to bring it In at S00 feet. In the Casper district, Mr. Dye said, he found a number of Salt Lake and Ogden men who were "playing the oil game'' and seemed to be doing well. The entire -state, he said, seems to be enjoying en-joying prosperity and the districts, which were sparsely settled a few years ago, arc now thriving communities. The ranges in the state were damaged by drought, but the coming of the cool weather is expected to afford relief. Some of the districts have enjoyed good rains. |
