Show pjii wns from 1WJHEITURE Japanese Plays Steady Tennis; Semifinals on Today's To-day's Program. NEWPORT, R. I., Aug. 7. Ichiya Ku-magae, Ku-magae, tennis champion of Japan, today defeated R. Lind'ey Murray of Niagara Kails, N . Y., American national champion, cham-pion, in five sets in the fourth round of the Casino tournament. The score was 3-6. 7-5, 3-6, 8-6, 6-3. The Japanese player was deadly in his accuracy and had a total of 53 placements place-ments n the five sets. In the first game of the third set he placed five shots perfectly, three of them in the corner of the court. His lobbing was particularly effective. Murray played a smashing ga.ne and. combined with the' effects ot his match with Niles in the morning, it wore him out. The result will br.ng Kumagae and William M.
