Show HOLDERS OF MEDALS TO GET ADDED HONOR Officers and soldiers who have won the congressional medal of honor or the distinguished dis-tinguished service cross may receive greater recognition than the mere pes- j session of the medals. In a recent issue of the Infantry j Journal magazine, the following appears: j "The "United States Infantry associa- I Uon has long believed that the officers j and soldiers who have been awarded the medal of honor or the distinguished service ser-vice cross should receive some further recognition than comes from the mere possession of the decorations, great honor though these be. "It has therefore decided to contribute contrib-ute its mite toward this recognition and will elect to "nonor membership for life in the Infantry association all those officers of-ficers and soldiers, without distinction, who have been awarded either the medal of honor or the distinguished service cross. As a further mark of grateful recognition of the services for which the decorations were awarded, the Infantry Journal will be mailed to the medal of honor men for life and to the recipients of the distinguished service cross for a period of five years, each at the expense ex-pense of the United States Infantry association.' |
