Show APPLICANTS TIE IN I RACE FOR WATER BIDS A race to file applications on the surplus sur-plus waters of the east fork of Little river, in Cache county, ended in a tie at the office of the state engineer yesterday yes-terday morning. As far as the records of the engineer's office are concerned, they will show that both applications were filed simultaneously, and it will be a matter of judging which of the applicants ap-plicants can make the best showing regarding re-garding the use of the water. Eugene Schaub, representing the Paradise Irrigation & Reservoir company, com-pany, filed an application for 2000 acre feet of water from the stream, to be used in irrigating 1120 acres of land near Paradise, Cache county. N. J. Nielson, president of the Hyrum Irrigation company, com-pany, fifed application for 7000 acre feet from the same stream, to be used in irrigating 4000 acres of land. Both companies propose to construct reservoirs, in order to conserve the flood waters. The question of reservoir 'sites, properties held and such matters will have to be taken Into consideration by the state engineer's office In determining deter-mining which application is to be granted. : |
