Show j TRACERS ARE SENT AFTER THE NC-4 MOBILE, Ala., Dec. 20. Naval officials today sent out tracers for the N'C-4, the naval transatlantic seaplane, vTiieh ia several hours overdue on the nonstop flight from Galveston to Mobile. The plana h-fi Galveston at 9:35 o'clock this morning ami was due to arrive here at 1:30 thitf afternoon. Lieutenant Commander A. C. Read, the NC-4's transatlantic commander, was aboard the plane when it left Galveston. Captain W. (1. Roper, head of the southeastern south-eastern naval recruitin?? district, who came here to welcome Commander Read, has taken up the search for the missing plane. Wireless messages have been sent broadcast along- the gulf coast in an effort to locate the ship. Mrs. Head, who is awaiting her husband hus-band here, stated tonight she was not worried over his safety, as the hus? plane was frequently delayed in such weather. WASHINGTON, Dec. 20. Officials at the navy department said toniaht they had received no report that the NC-4 was overdue on the flight between Galveston and Mobile. |
