J t is announced that engineers and ice cream ami butter manufacturing specialists of t Lu Mutual company will come to Butte within a few duy s to supervise t he remodeling and to initiate ini-tiate the new business in this territory. The new plant is expected to be th-o finest structure of iu kind west ot Chicago upon its completion, hicu will take about three months. The building purchased has housed what has been repu ted to U? one of the finest retail milk concerns in the west. The entire interior of the building build-ing will be of white enamel when completed com-pleted and will house the most modern creamery and ice cream manufacturing machinery obtainable, according to the plans which have been announced here. The retail milk business of the Montana Mon-tana company will be turned over to othr similar concerns here while the Mutual company will devote its efforts entirely to thc manufacturing end and to the wholesaling of sweet milk and cream. A unique feature of the plant here 1 will be the construction of a fifty car- 1 , load cold storaj;? warehouse. An es- j pecial facility of the building will be storage rooms to be placed at the disposal dis-posal of the smaller creameries of Montana, Mon-tana, which in the past havo suffered materially in the summer months he-ratine he-ratine of lack of adequate storage. This improvement is expected to encourage the dairying industry in Montana. With the new Butte plant tho Mutual Creamery company announces that it will have a total of thirty-two complete modern plants in the eight western and northwestern states in which it operates. oper-ates. Fifteen of these are creameries and ice cream manufacturing establishments establish-ments and seventeen are cheese factories. factor-ies. All are being operated on what is known as tho Mutual plan, by which the investors in the company, the employees em-ployees of the various plants and the farmers who sell the company produce are interested alike. It is announced that C. J. Christiansen Christian-sen will remain as manager of the enlarged en-larged business here and that the em-p em-p loved force will be materially increased in-creased to care for the business of the company.
