Show PUPILS PLEASE IN PATRIOTIC PROGRAM An unusual exhibition of artistry, together to-gether with a spirit of patriotism was the outstanding feature of the entertainment entertain-ment given at the East high school auditorium audi-torium last night by the pupils of the Douglas school, in which every pupil of the 400 enrolled participated. The program was a varied one, (including (includ-ing songs and dances representing the various nationalities, tableaux, playlets and duets. So high was the pitch of enthusiasm aroused by the performance of the youngsters young-sters that, during one of the intermissions, intermis-sions, Dr. J. Lloyd Woodruff arose to express the appreciation of the parents and patrons of the school for the excel-lence excel-lence with which the pupils had acquitted themselves. The auditorium was crowded to capacity. ca-pacity. The entertainment was in the hands of Miss Evelyn Reilly, principal of the Douglas school. |
