Show B. Y. U. COMMITTEE SUBMITS A REPOR1 Excellent Showing Is Made as to Girls' and Women's Red Cross Activities. PROVO, May 2S. The B. Y. U. committee commit-tee on girls' and women's activities the past year has made a report on the Red Cross work done by the school. The report shows that the girls have knitted 17-i sweaters, 50 pairs of socks, 2." shawls. 19 scarfs and three helmets, making mak-ing a total of 271 knitted pieces. In addition ad-dition to this they have made 30 dresses for Belgian children of 8 years of age, 19 dresses for babies and 19 baby jackets, making a grand total of .'!39 finished garments. gar-ments. For those results the women's committee acknowledges the efficient and untiring efforts of Miss Vilate Elliott and Miss Mazie Campbell. These ladies have been besieged in season and out of season sea-son for help. Thanks also are tendered to the liberal policy of the administration In permitting the girls to knit during the devotional period, without which assistance assist-ance these results would have been impossible. im-possible. In addition to the work done in sewing and knit ting, several hundred surgical dressings have been made under the direction di-rection 'of Misses Ivle and Maggie Gardner. Gard-ner. Miss Edith Austin takes the medal for the largest quantity of work, having knitted nine sweaters. |
