A conference of hih school pirls, under un-der the direction of the national board of the Young Women's Christian associHtion, will open this evening at the Fiifct Presbyterian Pres-byterian church for a. three days" session. The central idea, of the conference will be the introduction of t he G.rls" patriotic league, u national mo ement whu h embraces em-braces any girls' orga nization of whh'h the members take the pledge of the league. The theme will be presented in a girl's patriotic rally to be hcid Sunday afternoon ;u ;:."( o'clock. A business session will be held tomorrow, tomor-row, opening at i'::: o'e.oek, rresided over by Miss Mary Martin of the New Jersey academy, Iogan. Addresses will be made by Miss Elvira J. Slack and Miss Elizabeth Magee of Denver, national student stu-dent department secretaries of tile V. V. C. A., and Miss Gertrude Praek, girls' work secretary of t he local association. A general discussion will follow on the subject. "The War and a Girl's Responsibility.' Respon-sibility.' A banquet will be served this evening at j o ciock at me cnurcn tor girls o: high school age. A number of cu-of-town visitors from schools over ti.- f.ate will be in attendance at the meeting. |
