Show MT. PLEASANT KEEPS INCORPORATION DAY Special to The Tribune. MOUNT PLEASANT, Feb. 21. In commemoration of the fiftieth anniversary anniver-sary of the incorporation of Mount Pleasant as a city special exercises were held yesterday afternoon in the Elite theater, followed by a dancing party attended at-tended by about 400 iu Armory hail. All business houses and schools were closed during the exercises, at which the following fol-lowing programme was rendered with Mayor W. D. Candlaud as master of ceremonies : Music br the band; song, "America," by the audience; invocation, ex-Mayor Daniel Easmusseu; music, Hafen male quartette; address, "Fifty Years1 of Progress.'-' former Mayor C. N. Lund; short talk by former Councilman Peter Moeensen; remarks by former Mayors .T. W Anderson. James Monson, N. S. Neilsen, John H. Seely, H. C. Beau-mann Beau-mann and Joseph Monson; benediction, Bishop A. E. Mcintosh. An old record book containing, interesting data from early days was presented to the city by Rasmus 'Anderson. |
