Show POSTOFFICES ARE OUT ; OF THRIFT STAMPS! '" ! Sales Exceedingly Brisk, Postmasters Eeport to Salt Lake Committees. Reports received yesterday at headquarters head-quarters of the state war saviugs committee com-mittee were to the effect that many of the postoffices in the southern part of the state have completely sold out of thrift stamps. Hush orders continued to pour into the state director and to the local postoffice from all districts of the state. While the reports are received with encouragement liy the state committee, the postofriee 'department at Washington Washing-ton has been asked to notify all postmasters post-masters of the country ,;not to be caught napping" during the campaign. Georjje T. Udell, state director, declared that a number of postmasters did not anticipate the heavy demand for thrift stamps an.l certificates and eouseqneutly their stocks were depleted rapidly. The citv committee on war tavings societies, headed by r'ratik A. lusher, continues to make encouraging reports of their activities to the state committee. commit-tee. Most of the largo corporations have already formed societies and the various wards and districts of the city are expected to perfect their thrift organizations or-ganizations by next week. |
