Show DEMAND FOR LABOR TO EXCEED SUPPLY WASHINGTON, Dec. 11. No reduction in wages can be expected for a number of years, because the demand for labor will exceed the country's supply, the house rules committee was told by Secretary Sec-retary of Labor Wilson. He appeared to : urge the completion of legislation to provide pro-vide useful and necessary public work for discharged soldiers and industrial workers. The secretary thought it would be only for a brief period, if at ail, that the government would have to provide employment, em-ployment, but that the precaution should be taken. He suggested extensive work on highways, rivers and harbors and public buildings under new appropriation bills being framed by house committees. |
