A comprehensive report on the cost v of coal production in the Utah fields and retail selling prices in Salt Lake City was completed last night by Ku-gene Ku-gene Giles and John K. Data Is Gathered. I In anticipation of the information desired at the conference of fuel administrators admin-istrators to be held at Washington next Tuesday, Mr. Armstrong telegraphed several days ago for the data contained in the report. Mr. Hardy gathered the information from producers and retailers retail-ers and ascertained the cost of yardage, storage, delivery, freight, overhead and all items of expense incident to the re-tail re-tail trade as well as to the production. The advisability of abrogating con- tracts between the producers and con- I sinners fixing prices lower than those designated in the president's order also was gone into, and the extent of the contracts was ascertained. Expect Early Conclusion. With this information available it is believed the fuel administration will be in a position to arrive at some con-elusion con-elusion immediately as to what should be done with reference to the proposed readjustment of coal prices at Utah mines and that the establishment of retail coal prices in the state will be a ( question of but a few days. WASHINGTON, Sept. 28 Fuel Administrators Ad-ministrators for sixteen states were named today by Dr. H. A. Garfield, the j federal fuel administrator, and others ( will be appointed tomorrow. TheyjciU be invited to confer with Dr. GariieTfS here next Tuesday to discuss prices and T distribution in their states. Thov named today include: , Iowa, Charles W. Webster, Waucoma; 1 Montana, M. J. Swindlehurst, Helena, and Utah, W. W. Armstrong, Salt Lake City. The state administrators are to roc- ommend administrators for each city and town and these will recommend local lo-cal prices and will be charged with distributing dis-tributing coal through local dealers. |
