Show Coffee Futures. NEW YORK, March 26. There was a renewal of liquidation In the market for coffee futures today and prices made new low ground for the movement, selline about thirty-five to fortv points below the high level of last week. , The market opened unchanged to two points lower under selling which seemed to come partly from houses with cotton trade connections, con-nections, while scattering Wall street liquidation may have been prompted by a less favorable view of political news from Russia. A;ery little support was in evidence, and after selling at 7.7n- Julv eased off to 7.71c. while December declined de-clined from S.nSc. to S.05o. Closing prices were the lowest of the day, showing a net loss of three to seven points. Sales, 39.-500 39.-500 bags. March, T.oUc; April. 7.0 tc; Mav, 7.56c; June. 7.63c; July, 7.70c; August, 7.77c: September, 7.S3c; Oetober, i.Sflc; November, 7.9.c; December, S.O0c; January, Janu-ary, 8.06c; February, 8.12c. Spot, quiet; Rio 7s. Jtsic; Pantos 4s. 10c. Some of the offers reported in the cost and freight market were said to be a shade lower, with others about unchanged. Santos 3s und 4s were offered at 9c, and 4s at 9.60c. London credits. One of the cotton trade houses interested also in coffee received a cable from Havre reporting re-porting a higher market, there, owing to the total prohibition of imports. The official cables reported a decline of 150 rels at Rio, with Santos spots unchanged un-changed and futures unchanged to 23 reis lower. Santos reported a clearance of 64,000 bags for New Orleans. |
