Show 1CHIH0RE PRODUGTiGTJ STEADY Despite Embargoes Since Last August, Much Development De-velopment Reported. Despite the embargoes In effect the greater part of the time stn ;e August, 1 the Michigan -Utah haa maintained a seady production of ore, according to a sra lenient given out yesteraay by llana-j llana-j ger N. W. Ha; re. The statement con-''erning con-''erning operations at the property, given out by M r. H aire, f o 11 o w s : Under groan d. in the north and souLh drifts of the .Lavinia fissure, on the level of the Copper Prin--e tunnel, tun-nel, there has been steady development, develop-ment, both north ajid south. Toward the south, where tho miners have ' teen In ore for two months and over, I they are now stoping high-grade ore. a' crosscut has also been started I west to intercept the Grizzly fissure. ! This ib'HUre is distant about forty feet and should be intercepted within tlie next four or five days. Quite recently the companv started to extend the Liivtnla fissure to the north. Already a streak of ore has been encountered, and undoubtedly it will lead into something pretty good- because they are now bridging" to toe north, a region re-gion where large ore bodies once existed ex-isted above. About 40o0 foet of traction tramway tram-way rope has been installed within the last week. This caused the de-lav de-lav of only about a day and a half, although the tramway was run pretty ylowlv for some time previous on account ac-count of weak places in the traction rope, for whidi this new rope was needed. The tramway Is well supplied sup-plied with everything to take it through the winter In good shape and, as stated in a previous issue, it was never in as good condition as it Is today. , . Complete report for the doings for the past three years will be ready for the annual meeting of the stockholders stockhold-ers next February. Michigan-Utah is about in the same position, so far as Hs stock. Is concerned, con-cerned, as all other mines. Tt occupies occu-pies the rather peculiar position of having its stock sell for loss now than it did three years ago, when lt was burdened with an Immense amount of debt and had no special development work in new ground and no ore bodies except those in the old work-' lugs. This has been entirely changed during the three years; however, the stock is selling for about half of what lt did at the beginning of its career. Of course, this is owing .entirely to outside conditions, over which the mine has no control. |
