Show 17 BRITISH SHIPS SUNK BY GERMANY Sixteen of the Merchantmen of More Than 1600 Tons and One of Less. LONDON, Dee. 5. Sixteen British merchantmen of more than 1600 tons were sunk by mines or submarines in the past week, according to the admiralty ad-miralty statement tonight.
