Show THANKSGIVING will be observed at the Y. W. (,.'. A. rooms in the Continental Bank building, with an old fashioned, ' ' homey J ' Thanksgiving dinner for girls who are away from home. Dinner will be served at i o 'clock. Girls who will attend are requested to register by Tuesday evening. Many young women, who are away from relatives and friends and would otherwise be lonely, will doubtless doubt-less take advantage of the opportunity for enjoying good cheer in congenial company. The membership contest inaugurated the past week has resulted in T lie securing se-curing of 2'JU new members. The foives arc divided under two banners, one blue and the other white, under the leadership leader-ship of Mrs. H. V. Echerd and Mrs. y. 1j. Parker. The blue faction is slightly in the lead. The contest will continue until Wednesday. Yearly Programme for Welfare Club ( The Welfare club will hold its regular mceuns: Tuesday evening with Mrs. Frank P. Sherwood. The subject for the evening will bf "Bolivia, Paraguay and Uruguay." by Mrs. R. A. Horton. The Welfare club Issued its year-book during the past week. Impressive Pageant of Mission Fields The evening following Thanksgiving day has been chosen as the date lor a missionary pageant to be given at the First Presbyterian church, under the auspices of the Woman's Missionary society. Elaborate preparations in the way of staging, music and costuming are in progress. The various episodes will be undertaken by a cast of more than fifty men, women and children. Kgypt, India. China and that fairyland with its fairy people. Japan, will pass in review, together with the Pilgrim fathers, the vanishing Indian race and colored Americans from the sunny south. Mexican Mexi-can American neighbors from over the border will join the procession, to be followed fol-lowed by natives from Alaska and Island possessions of this country. The light bearers, who are the kindergarten kinder-garten department of missionary endeavor endeav-or in the church, will appear as children of ail nations. A men's diorug and several soloists will furnish appropriate music for each setting, set-ting, and the whole promises to be a most impressive and illuminating presentation presen-tation of the great and far-reaching work of Christian missions. Xo admission will be charged, but a thank offering will be received. Stockton Women Will Do Red Cross Work A Bed Cross branch to Tooele Red Cross chapter was perfected at Stockton Monday night by the officers of the local chapter. The meeting was presided pre-sided over bv James B. Hickman, who introduced Mrs. J. Arthur Rule,' vice chairman of Tooele Red Cross chapter, hc explained the purpose of the organization. organ-ization. Red Cross purposes were also outlined by A. B. Voting, the Rev. Frank W. Brown, James B. Hickman and Joseph Jo-seph Hughes. The branch was organized organ-ized with a membership of twenty-six charter members, as follow?: Mrs. Betsv Reese was elected chairman; Mrs. A. B. McLeod, vice secretary, and A. Donaldson, Donald-son, treasurer. Mrs. Thorwald H. Good-john Good-john has been appointed chairman of the receiving and distribution committee, with Mrs. Werner Floyd as assistant of Tooele Red Cross chapter, to be present at Red Cross headquarters on Friday of each week. Ladies9 Literary Club Department Meetings An afternoon devoted to some of the great artisis, in the form of living models representing thir masterpieces, v. - enjoyed en-joyed at the Ladies' Literary club on Frid&y. Meetings of Clubs Briefly Announced The Association of Collegiate Alumnae Alum-nae met Wednesday afternoon at the home of Mrs. Krnest Bamberger. Along with its other work the association decided de-cided to take up that of civilian relief. A committee compo.-ed of Miss Kate ! Williams. Mrs. Krnest Bamberger and Mips .Sadie Myers wa appointed to look into the matter of preparing the 1 members for active work.
