Show CAILLAUX ACCUSED BY FRENCH WAITER Former Premier Said to Be Campaigning Campaign-ing for "Dishonorable, Kuinous Peace." PARTS. Xov. 24. Under the hold caption, "I accuse M. Caillaux,r' Gus-tave Gus-tave Herve, in La Victoire, charges former rremier Joseph CaiUanx with being the center of the whole campaign for a dishonorable, ruinous peace. M. TIerve charges the former premier with having consorted during his stay in Italy with all the notorious "defeatists-' and neutralists, his assertions to the contrary notwithstanding; with having hav-ing not merely a social acquaintance with Bolo Pasha, but with having been his devoted friend and indefatigable protector; with having been the evil genius of Almerevda, the editor of the Bonnet Rouge, who died in prison while under charges, guiding and encouraging him in his -'defeatist" attitude and crowding him on to his doom.' M. Herve concludes: "You said, sir, that when you found the man who brought against'you something some-thing besides insinuations and twaddling twad-dling gossip, who dared accuse you outright, out-right, you would prosecute him at the assizes as a slanderer. I am your man, sir; prosecute me. I will produce my proofs and witnesses before a jury." As a result of tho publication of the Herve article in La Victoire, M. Cail-laux Cail-laux today began proceedings against M. Herve. |
