".The Paly West mill may be closed down for a short period in tho near future, due to the lack I or" sufficient wat o.r for milling- purposes. For the past few weeks tho water supply ' lias been decreasing steadily, due to the 'iht rainfall during the summer season and the lo weens 01 the lake from -which the water supply of the mill is drawn. The recent cold snap has also had con-siilerable con-siilerable to do with the decreased water Mil pply. Recently, however, the snowfall has been very heavy and this ia expected in the near future to materially Increase the water supply. The management. In discussing dis-cussing the situation, said today that in the even f the mill was closed it would only be temporarily. It has not been decided de-cided as yet whether the mine will be closed down at the same time or not. In the event the mine is closed, about 100 employees will be thrown out of work for a short period. There Is in the mine two or three sources of shipping' ore and the greater portion of the underground crew may be put. to extracting this ore in the event it is found necessary to close down the mill.
