Show jiXRS. SOPHIA SHARP, lvA for whom funeral ser- I i vices were held yesterday. j SERVICES HELD FDR MRS. SOPHIA SHARP Prominent Church Officials Extol Life Service of Pioneer Pio-neer Woman. ' Funeral services for Mrs. Sophia Sharp, widow of Bishop John Sharp, were held yesterday afternoon at the residence of her daughter, Mrs. James E. Jennings, 425 East South Temple street, Bishop C. Clearenee Xeslen of tlie Twentieth ward, presiding. Prayer was offered by President Richard Rich-ard W. Young. The speakers were Elder Le Grand Young and President Charles W. Penrose, both of whom lauded the faithful life service of Mrs. Sharp. The benediction was pronounced by Bishop Xeslen. Mrs. Lydia White Boothby and Miss Romania Hyde rendered ren-dered instrumental music, while a male quartette was heard in vocal selections. The wealth of beautiful flowers showed the esteem in wdiich Mrs. Sharp was beld. Interment took place in the City cemetery, Bishop Xeslen dedicating the grave. Mrs. Sharp was born in 1S39 at City Roads, London, England. She was baptized bap-tized into the Mormon church in 1850 and ten years later came to Utah. Iu 1861 she married Bishop Sharp by whom she had nine children. She is survived by two sisters, three daughters and seven grandchildren. |
