Show ROUNDUP II MITE WILL BE E MM Chairman Beesley Announces An-nounces Programme for Three-day Meeting. Under the direction of S. II. Beesley, chairman of the round-up committee of Granite high school, all effort is being bent toward the coming annual round-up of Granite, which is to be held February 7, S and 9. Professor Adam Bennion, principal of the Granite high, is quoted as saying: "I feel safe in saying that the round-up this year will be the biggest and best that we have ever had. Everything Every-thing is being done to make it a success and nothing will be overlooked which will tend toward making it better than ever before." The first day will be given over to dedicating ded-icating the new high school building, and speeches will be heard from the following: follow-ing: Governor Simon Bamherger, Professor Pro-fessor E. G. Peterson, president of the Agricultural college, a nd State Superintendent Superin-tendent E. G. Go wans. The second day will be given over to the development of good music in the home, and Professor Profes-sor Edward P. Kimball will address the patrons and guests on "Good Musie." Op the third day a survey will be made :of the district, so as to acquaint the i patrons and citizens with all that is being be-ing done by all the educational institutions institu-tions in Granite. There will be special department meetings, meet-ings, in which special subjects will be treated, for the people of the district by experts. Some of these departments wiil include agriculture, horticulture, animal husbandry, poultry raising, home cooking, cook-ing, sewing, home study, home reading, and the discipline and care of the child, as well as others. The committees are under the direction of t lie following: Miss Kewley. director of home economics : Arthur Caine, agriculture agri-culture division: Miss Victoria. Reed, physical education and special dancing; A. J. Hagen, programmes for students; Professor J. S. Cornwall, director of music. Mr. Adam son has been given complete control of the district survey. The first tw o class periods each day will he carried out as usual. The general session w ill begin at 10:30 a. m., alter which a short intermission for lunch will be allowed. In the afternoon the special department meetings will be conducted. On the first evening" the high school students stu-dents will present a play, and the other two evenings will be spent in basketball and dancing. A special feature of the round-up for the students will be views of the troops on the border, thrown upon the screen. This will be accomplished by using the new picture machine winch the school has lately purchased. |
