The capacity of the plant will he ;.00 tons of ore daily, which will be increased as soon as the plant starts. Before the first of the year it is expected ex-pected that 1000 tons of ore a day will be handled at the Kimberly plant, which was erected years ago by G. L. Giroux nt the. time that the property was known as the Giroux Consolidated. At the time that Thomas Cole of the Sole, Ryan syndicate took the property over, it was expected that a large amount of ore would be developed at depth. Something like $250,000 was spent in the sinking o f the Morris shaft and it was expected that high grade ore would be developed at depth. This was not done, hut on the contrary the Nevada Ne-vada Consolidated In opening up Its property found that there were thousands of tons of low grade ore on the Ruth claim belonging to the Consolidated Coppermines Cop-permines that could be mined by steam shovel and marketed. Work has been started on the Morris shaft to furnish water for the mill. At t lie same time sufficient ore can he mined to make the operations profitable. Fur many months drills have been at work on the Coppermines property developing de-veloping the low grade blanket vein that can bn utilized by steam shovels. It is expected that shortly a stea m shovel will begin operations on the Ruth claim at a point where the Nevada Consolidated Consoli-dated left off. |
