Show GOVERNOR OF IDAHO REVIEWS THE GUARD Special to The Tribune. BOISE, Idaho. June 28. Governor Moses Alexander, commander in chief, officially reviewed the Second Idaho infantry, in-fantry, 1000 strong, from a reviewing stand In front of the statehouse this evening. The parade was one of the most spectacular spec-tacular seen In this city. It was the largest body of troops seen here in marching order and caused unbounded enthusiasm from the thousands of people who banked the streets. The regiment made a splendid appearance and looked to be in excellent condition to entran for the front. The line of march was through the business section of the city. On the reviewing stand, besides the governor, were members of the supreme court and state officials. Mayors of cities and towns having companies in the citv and mothers of sons offered to the colors were given, positions of honor near the reviewing stand. The men were In marching equipment. As they passed the I reviewing stand arms were presented to the governor. An equipment, valued at JSO.O00. was received re-ceived from the San Francisco arsenal by the regiment today. a is large enough to place the regiment on a war footing 1S70 men. |
