The county commission voted yesterday afternoon to appropriate $.7000 from the general fund for road purposes, an equal amount being available from the state road fund for road improvement in Salt Iake county, according to notice to the commissioners from E. R. Morgan, state road engineer. Bv action of the board the clerk was authorized to write the state road commission- asking for more time in which to determine the road tax levy that will be made this year. Some of tho com-mlssloenrs com-mlssloenrs were of the opinion that the levy need not be more than three-fourths of a mill. In the regular course of events the decision de-cision on the rate of levy was due to have been made before June which would be thirty days from the date of the serving of notice upon the county commissioners com-missioners by the state road engineer. The fact that the total assessed valuation valua-tion of the county is not accurately known as yet and other matters caused the commissioners to delay decision in the matter and ask for more time. |
