The substance was injected into the tire a few minutes before the demonstration demon-stration took place. Three heavy nails were driven through boards and a horseshoe horse-shoe containing a sharp nail was laid on the pavement. The heavy machine then ran over them and every nail pierced the tire to its head. Except for a short hiss as each nail was pulled out. no air escaped. The substance sub-stance sealed the casing as "well as the tube, in a fraction of 'A second, with tht loss of nt1ly five pounds of pressure, , when all tour Mails were withdrawn.
