Show FARM BUREAUS ARE TOBEKIIZED Central Organization, as Well as Branches, Will Make Changes. Special to The Tribune. OGDEN, Nov. 11. Plana for the reorganization re-organization of the branch associations and also the central body of the organization organi-zation were discussed by directors j t the Weber County Farm bureau at their regular meeting in the Utah Na-tional Na-tional Bank building this afternoon. The annual election of officers will take place at the first meeting of the directors in January of next year. It was suggested today that the constitution con-stitution of the bureau be amended to the extent that all branch associations reorganize between November 15 and - December 15 of each year, that the fee I be made uniform and that the president, vice president and secretary be elected by the directors who are selected by the branch associations. The reorganization j plans also includes the suggestion that I the housewives of the county be organized or-ganized into an auxiliary association. : D. D. McKay, president of the bu reau; and W. P. Thomas, county farm I agent; have arranged to attend more i than a dozen association meetings in ! the next three weeks. In addition to I reorganization, the farmers will discuss rural credit associations and projects for nest year. President McKay and Mr. i Thomas were empowered to proceed with ' plans for the annual state round-up to be held here in January. 1 Mr. Thomas reported that Weber ! county's fight against obnoxious weeds had received special attention by the j United States department of agriculture, ' and ho is in receipt of a letter from ! Washington congratulating the farmers j for their efficient work. The Utah Ag-j Ag-j ricultural college has been instructed to compile a report showing both the results re-sults and the methods, the information to be used throughout the country. The report will show, according to Mr. Thomas, that 85 per cent of the country 1 roads in the county were cleared of ob- noxious weeds, that 58 per cent of the I farmers in the county cleaned up their own properties, and that the railroad j and electric line companies co-operated in the campaign. The bureau encountered encoun-tered the greatest difficulty in getting 1 the irrigation companies to help in the weed fight. Mr. Thomas is preparing a , detailed report showing the results in ' each district of the county. |
