Tlie state department has no new in-formation in-formation tonight regarding the situation created by the request for the recall of Embassador Dumba. It is known, however, how-ever, that the request has been received by the Austrian government. Pending the receipt of a statement of official attitude at-titude of the Austrian foreign office, the state department is not willing to comment com-ment on the contingency that Austria may refuse to send another embassador to the L'niied States in place of Embassador Embas-sador Dumba, and leave the embassy to be run by a charge d'affaires. Officials are particularly anxious to avoid a discussion dis-cussion of tlie suggestion that if a new embassador were not appointed by Austria, Aus-tria, it would be an act of implied hostility hos-tility to the United States.
