Show FOREIGN BANKERS ARE ENTERTAINED Today They Will Begin the Work of Negotiating a Loan in This Country. NKW YORK. Sept. 1 2. The Joint A nglo- French financial commissioners, who are here to arrange some manner of payment for the grent volume of American Amer-ican supplies shipped to Great Britain and France, and contracted for, expect to enter upon their work in ea rnest this week. During their stay in this city the commissioners will establish headquarters headquar-ters downtown, where they will be in close touch with the financial district- U In expected that they will take possession of their offices tomorrow. Members of the commission spent today to-day as the guests of New York bankers at their covin try etatos. Lord Reading, chairman of the commission, and Basil B. Blackett, the secretary, were entertained by .T. P. Morgan at his Glrncove home, and other commissioners and thir families fam-ilies epeni the day at the country home of Wjuard P. Straight of the Morgan firm and Frank A. Yandcrlip of the National Na-tional City bank. They returned lo New York late' tonight. n |
