Olfjra Porfnr of the Philadelphia Turngpmein-i Turngpmein-i e. proved herself to be t he fastest woman wo-man swimmer who ever rompetei in this country, over the Philadelphia Swimming club's course yesterday in the Schuylkill river, by defeating a fast field of womrn and fzlrl swimmer? in the open swimming races riven by the Philadelphia Turng-e-meinde. Miss Oorfner won thp 50 yard swim in "ft 2-5 seconds, the lOft-yard event in l:O0 3-fi and the 200-yard race in the fast time of 5 minutes 15 2-5 seconds, all of which will become new American records, rec-ords, tbe course having been accurately measured and sicnd for by A. A. U. officials, of-ficials, who were present. Lucy Freeman of the .National Women's Life Saving leajTiin of New York City, In winning the one-mile swim over a ItO-jard course, across stream, in 35 minutes and 38 seconds, also established a new authentic record for the distance, winning by 1 minute and 20 seconds over her next nearest competitor.
