Show PROPOSAL TO MOVE PRODUCTS EXHIBIT Matter of State Furnishing Display-Space Display-Space to Be Discussed by-Capitol by-Capitol Commission. The proposal to transfer what is known as the Chamber of Commerce exhibit of Utah products and resourcH from the Vermont building to a cba rabet in the new statehouSQ will he considered by the capitol cpniraieaion at a meeting this after aft-er noun. A committee from I he Manufacturers' association of Utah will meet with the commission and present the t'a'ts about the chamber of commerce display. At the present tlmo and for some years past the exhibit has been housed on the grdund floor of the Vermont building, where also are situated the offices of the Manufacturers' association. Recently the expense of maintaining the exhibit has been a heavy load for the Manufacturers' association to carry, Various plans for flnaticlnK the exhibit were suggested, but none was feasible for continuing II at a high ground-floor rental in a place like the Vermont building. build-ing. 1 1 was suggested that the state take the exhibit and house ft in Ihe new capitol, capi-tol, there to have it open free to visitors. The manufacturers are willing to keep it brushed up and In good condition if Ihe state will furnish the display space. All this will be talked over before the capitol commission today. If ihe Chamber of Commerce display Is removed to the capitol, the headquarters of the Manufacturers' association win not go with It. The association will then seek other quarters In the down-town district for offices, but will maintain no displays there. j 7 |
