RESERVOIR EMPTIED TO STOP LEAKAGES Water Found Coming Through Expansion Ex-pansion Joints After Rapid Filling of Receptacle. A few leaks were discovered In the expansion ex-pansion joints of the concrete-lined res-: res-: ervolr of the city waterworks system, lo-I lo-I cated above Mt. Olivet cemetery, and Bat; urday and yesterday the water was ; drained into the service water pipes while j the leaks were stopped up with asphaltum. j City Engineer Sylvester Q. Cannon said I last nltrht that the extension joints would be gone over again this week, when they would be made watertight. The leakage was observed when the res-I res-I ervolr was filled rapidly after the recent J heavy rain which followed the extended , period of water shortage of the summer. J There Is now ample water in the system i for all purposes.
