Show SHOTS FIRED AT SALTAIR CONDUCTOR Four Men Are Under Arrest for Taking Cigars From Concession. Alleged to have been caught helping themselves to cigars at the concession stand of John Foote at Saltair, four young men were brought to this city yesterday by Deputy Sheriffs E. C. Penrose and William Hurst, and are being be-ing held at the county jail on a charge of third degree burglary. The four are said to be the same who were put off the 9:30 traiu going to the resort near the salt works Saturday night, when they refused to pay their fare. One of the four fired several shots at Conductor Conduc-tor Joseph Roy shortly after he had put them off. As a result H. A. Bradley, suspected of firing the shots, may lie charged with assault with a deadly weapon. According to the story gleaned from the arrested men by the deputy sheriffs, the men slept in a box ca.r on the Y switch at the salt works and sneaked into the pavilion early yesterday morning. morn-ing. Soon the place was surrounded by employees of the resort and the men forced to surrender, being immediately locked in the cell provided at the pavilion pa-vilion and later turned over to the deputies. A revolver was found on one of the four, who gave his name as Otto Clegg. The other two men gave their names as "Emery Keefer and Ed Welser. |
