Show JEWELRY FOUND ON TWO ARRESTED MEN Lang and Martin. Held in Denver for Salt Lake Robberies, Also Wanted in Grand Junction. Special to The Tribune. DKNVFJR, Sept. 5. George Lang and J. L. Martin, held here for alleged complicity com-plicity in recent Salt Lake robberies, are also wanted in Grand Junction, according accord-ing to a telegram received by Chief of Police Duf field. The arrest of the men was effected by Chief Duffield personally. He unearthed un-earthed and ran down clews that he believed be-lieved would disclose their whereabouts and eventually located Lang in a Larimer street pawn shop. Then he sent detectives de-tectives to arrest him. The detectives secured from TAng information in-formation leading to the capture of his alleged accomplice. Jewelry worth ?300 was found in the possession of the men. The police say It was stolen from Grand Junction, where the prisoners will be taken, regardless of the claims of Salt Lake authorities. Police Captain Km 11 V. Johnson said last night that though the Denver police had forwarded to the Salt Lake police department a description of the Jewelry found upon the two men under arrest iii the Colorado capital, no record of loss of any such valuables could be found here. Captafn Johnson said that there was apparently ap-parently no probability that the jewelry was stolen here and that therefore the Salt Lake department had no further interest in-terest in the men under arrest. |
