Show TWO CHAMPIONS LOSE IN WOMEN'S NATIONAL MEET Miss Lillian Hyde and Miss Elaine Rosenthal Are Eliminated From Race; Three Chicagoans Still in the Running. CHICAGO. Sept. Miss Lillian Hyde of New York, metropolitan champion, and Ml!s Elaine V. Rosenthal of Chicago, weatern i-hampion, were eliminated from the women's national golf tournament at the Onwentaia club today by Mrs. R. H. Barlow Bar-low of Philadelphia and Miss Mariorie Bid wards of Chicago, respectively. Mrr. Barlow, who la the favorite of a large 'ontingent for the championship, had to play steadily all the way. with a medal score of 9 to win by 1 up. but Mlas Edwards Ed-wards had an easier time, gaining a led of two holes on the flrM nine and holding hold-ing It to the finish. Mia Alexa Starling of Atlanta, sou t hero ha mpton, aurvtved the second round handily, defeating Laurie Kaiser, champion of Chicago. 5 and 5. Mrs. W a.
