Show EARLY SENATE SESSION. Senator Fletcher of Florida agrees with Stone of Missouri that the senate sen-ate will be called together some weeks in advance of the regular assembling of congress. The intention is to ratify the trtaties with Colombia and Nicaragua, Nicar-agua, calling for the expenditure of about $.30,1100,000 all told. The Nira-raguan Nira-raguan treaty may be put through, but the fate of the Colombia pact is more than doubtful. There is suro to be a fight over both treaties and unless Ihe Democrats first (provide some form of cloture neither one will ever come to a vote. In addition to the treaties and the cloture proposition, there are other matters pending in the senate which can be attended to before congress assembles as-sembles in December, so we presume the extra session may be regarded as a coming com-ing event. |
