Show CLUB GETS KRAG RIFLES. First Shipment of Discarded Army Weapons Weap-ons Reaches Ogden. Special to The Tribune. OGDEN, Pec. 9. Members of the Ogden Rifle and Kevolver club have received the first shipment of thirty Krag carbines car-bines fi om the federal government , the weapons being those that were used In the Spanish-American war and later discarded dis-carded by tiie United States army. All of the carbines have been cleaned, repaired re-paired and renlned at the government arms factories and have the appearance of new weapons. The Unit d Sta tes army officials recently re-cently authorized tiie distribution of 3rn-0'JO 3rn-0'JO of these weapons to duly authorized members of rifle and gun clubs. Tiie cost, including packing and transportation, was ?4.2o each. A t ter purchase the gun becomes be-comes tho personal property of the club member and in no way obligates him foi government service. Tho otden rifle dub has affiliated with the national association and its members will participate in the national contest this winter, the first preliminary to be held nt the local armory next Saturday evening. |
