Colonel George Winter, aged 63 years, manager of tiie pocatello Water company, one of tiie pioneers and a famous engineer, died this morning at 8 o'clock of pneumonia. Re contracted the malady In Salt Lake lust week and was brought home last night, but could not rally on account of age. Colonel Winter was born at Portsmouth. Ports-mouth. England, April 20, IS5"., of a distinguished dis-tinguished F.nglish family. An an engineer engi-neer he built rniiroads in India and received re-ceived honors from his government. He was a member of the American Engineering Engi-neering association, well known through- j out the west, and had resided in Pocatello Poca-tello for twenty-two years. He is survived sur-vived by his widow and daughter Mar-jorie, Mar-jorie, a gifted musician. Colonel Winter was a member of the Klks iodge and i greatly Interested in charily.
